Long term conditions

You can access this service if you have been diagnosed with a respiratory, cardiac or diabetes condition and experiencing difficulties coming to term with your diagnosis or simply not managing your health on a day-to-day basis. We do not prescribe medication but we will talk to you about your condition and help you find ways to manage your difficulties.

The service comprises of our clinical psychologists and assistant psychologists who work under the supervision of the registered clinical psychologists.

The range of difficulties people bring to a psychologist include: low mood, feeling hopeless, feeling overwhelmed, feeling worried/afraid, feeling anxious about medical treatment, feeling like a burden on others, sleep difficulties, struggling to adjust to life changes due to health problems, finding it difficult to self-manage your condition.
