It is important that you register with a GP (doctor) and dentist as you settle in to the area. We also advise that you know where your local pharmacy and optician are, should you need their support.

If you move to the UK permanently, you are entitled to free NHS hospital treatment, like all UK residents. If there is a waiting list for the treatment you need, you’ll have to join the waiting list. Regardless of our residential status or nationality, you are entitled to free emergency NHS treatment from an accident and emergency department or an NHS walk-in centre for treatment of specified infectious diseases or conditions caused by torture or violence.
