Is the Acute Medical Assessment Unity (AMAU) affected?

The AMAU (Acute Medical Assessment Unit) provides emergency care for very sick adult medical patients, such as those who have suffered a stroke or heart attack.  These patients should not attend the Minor Injury Unit, which is for minor injuries in children over 12-months and adults.

If you have a medical emergency you need to dial 999 and you can be taken directly to the AMAU. NHS 111 Wales and GPs can also refer patients to the AMAU.

No changes to the opening hours or how the public access the AMAU are proposed in this consultation
