Staying safe in the hospital

Update - 9 February 2023

During times of increased numbers of people with a viral respiratory infection (such as COVID-19 or flu) across our communities and hospitals, the health board may re-introduce precautionary infection prevention and control measures when/where required to prevent the further spread of infection.

Patients, staff and visitors will be advised of changes in infection prevention and control measures as and when necessary.

These measures may include:

  • re-introducing the wearing of face masks for all or some staff depending on their role;
  • encouraging visitors to wear face masks to protect the person they are visiting, other patients and staff (masks can be made available at our hospital main entrances);
  • patients may be asked the wear a face mask, if they can tolerate it, for example when being transferred between wards or departments.

Thank you for your continued support and co-operation to keep Hywel Dda safe.
