CMATS is provided by a specialist team of Physiotherapists and Podiatrists with advanced practice in musculoskeletal/orthopaedic conditions. They will help you understand the cause of your symptoms and when able, empower you to self-manage your condition. The team can organise investigations (X-ray, MRI, ultrasound scans, blood tests), as well as provide specific treatments such as steroid injections.
If further treatment is required to help manage your condition, the team can also refer you to physiotherapy (opens in new tab), podiatry (opens in new tab), dietetics (opens in new tab), and pain/weight management programmes, as well as the National Exercise Referral Scheme (NERS, opens in new tab). If a consultant opinion is required, they will refer you to the appropriate specialty.
