About the Artwork

A Dose of Art is an extraordinary artwork by Nathan Wyburn, commissioned by Hywel Dda University Health Board to honour the incredible efforts of healthcare staff and volunteers working right across the Hywel Dda region throughout the COVID 19 pandemic and celebrates the success of the vaccination programme across Hywel Dda.

The piece of art is made from thousands of little plastic lids collected from the tops of the vaccination vials by NHS vaccination staff across the vaccination centres in Hywel Dda. Each one representing 6, 8, 10 or 20 vaccines delivered.

The artwork depicts two smiling NHS staff without any PPE (Personal, Protective Equipment) to express the hope and freedom, community, light and life that the Mass Vaccination Programme came to represent for people right across Hywel Dda.

The artist Nathan Wyburn was chosen by Hywel Dda staff and volunteers via an online vote and has been made possible with funding from Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board.
