Autism Advice Hubs are a consultation service with a clinician or specialist support worker. These 30 minute consultation appointments are available via telephone or video call.
Advice hubs are available to parents of children who have been referred to the NDT and are currently waiting for their assessment to begin. They can provide information, advice and resources about autism. They are private appointments where you can discuss current challenges confidentially.
To book an advice hub appointment you can contact us on:
Telephone: 01267 283077

At the time of booking we will need your name, phone number and email address. We will also ask you to give a brief description of what you would like to discuss during your advice hub call.
Professional consultations are an opportunity for professionals to speak with a clinician from the NDT to get autism advice specific relating to a child they are supporting. The consultation can take place via telephone or video call. Professionals may wish to discuss possible strategies to support a child and ways to adapt their approach to best meet the child’s needs. They may also wish to discuss whether a referral to the Children’s Neurodevelopmental Team is appropriate.
The consultation service is available for professionals supporting a child who has received a diagnosis of autism or a child who is currently undergoing an autism assessment. We can also provide professional consultations relating to children who have not been referred to us for an autism assessment.
We ask that professionals request a consultation using our professional consultation request form. We will then contact you to arrange the consultation call.
If you need a copy of the consultation request form please email us on: ChildASD.referrals@wales.nhs.uk

We currently offer two separate post diagnostic workshops. One workshop is for parents of children who have had a diagnosis of autism. The other workshop is for young people themselves (over the age of 12 years) who have had an autism diagnosis.
The aim of the workshop is to provide more information about autism and useful tips about how to manage some of the differences and challenges of autism.
The workshops are held online using MS Teams. After receiving a diagnosis of autism parents and young people are automatically offered a place on the next available post diagnostic workshop. You can opt out of the workshop if you do not wish to attend.
