From 1 April 2026, new NHS-funded care complaint regulations comes into effect.
The former ‘Putting Things Right’ guidance has been replaced by a more person‑centred approach called ‘Listening to People’, designed to strengthen openness, compassion and timely responses.
If you have an existing concern or complaint raised before 1 April 2026, your case will continue to be handled under the Putting Things Right (2011) regulations. More information can be found in the section below under Make a complaint before 1 April 2026.
If you wish to raise a concern or complaint on or after 1 April 2026, this will be handled under the new Listening to People (2026) regulations. For more information, please read the section below under Make a complaint from 1 April 2026.
