Pharmacy walk-in centres

A number of community pharmacies across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire became known as pharmacy walk-in centres on St David’s Day, 1 March 2019. The participating pharmacies, who already offer a range of services for the public, are now being formally recognised under this scheme.

Pharmacy walk-in centres are open at least 45 hours a week with at least three hours on a Saturday.  You will be able to access the following services:

  • common ailments service
  • emergency hormonal contraception 
  • emergency supply of medication
  • smoking cessation level 3 
  • return of patient sharps
  • high standard consultation rooms are available at pharmacy walk-in centres which offer a private, clean and safe environment to discuss any concerns or access treatments. 

In addition pharmacy walk-in centres will be working towards providing the following services within six months (if not already providing):

  • triage and treat 
  • lifestyle advocacy 
  • flu vaccinations (2019-2020 season)
