Sexually transmitted infection testing

If you want a sexual health check and have no symptoms, concerns or signs of infection, you can order a free sexually transmitted infection self-test kit here (opens in new tab). If you have no symptoms but online testing is not right for you, please call our appointment line on 01267 248674.

If you are worried that you may have an STI, our sexual health clinics can test for most infections. This includes chlamydia, gonorrhoea, herpes, syphilis, HIV, and hepatitis. We advise testing after each new partner.

If you have symptoms or think you may have been in contact with an infection, please contact us to talk about it. We will arrange a clinic appointment for you to be seen with our clinical staff or to collect medication if appropriate.

HIV

It is important to get help as soon as possible if you think you have been in contact with HIV. You may need post-exposure prophylaxis after sexual exposure (PEPSE).

Tests for symptoms

When you come to see us with symptoms, we may do extra tests to look for other infections we can treat. These may include:

Herpes – a swab from a sore or break in the skin
Trichomonas (TV) – a swab from the vagina
Mycoplasma genitalium – a swab or urine test for some people with symptoms
