Texture Modified Diets (TMD) also referred to as the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) – these meals are available when specifically prescribed by our speech and language therapy teams. Food is prepared in a special way to create a certain texture or consistency, making it safer to eat for people with swallowing difficulties.
Pureed diet or IDDSI level 4. Pureed food is thick, smooth and moist with no lumps. It requires no chewing and should be one single consistency. It should not separate into a liquid and a solid.
