Texture Modified Diets (TMD) also referred to as the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) – these meals are available when specifically prescribed by our speech and language therapy teams. Food is prepared in a special way to create a certain texture or consistency, making it safer to eat for people with swallowing difficulties.
Soft and bite size diet or IDDSI level 6. Foods may be naturally soft or may be cooked or cut to make sure they are soft enough. These foods can be chewed easily and require no mashing, mincing, or blending. Hard, dry, or crumbly foods should be avoided.
