Making the most of your virtual appointment: Privacy, respect and good practice

This service is intended for patients who have been invited to a video consultation with doctors, nurses, or other healthcare staff. Your virtual appointment is not for emergencies, and is not a 24 hour service.

Respecting each other

We ask everyone on the call to be polite and respectful at all times.

Please do not:

  • use offensive language
  • cause disruption, fear, harassment, alarm or distress, or
  • breach patient confidentiality.

The clinician may remove you or end the call if they feel any of these behaviours are used.

Your privacy

Your privacy is important.  Please do not share the link or access details to your call with anyone who should not be joining.

We ask to you to:

  • join your call from a quiet location where your discussion cannot be overheard, and
  • tell the clinician if someone else is in the room.  Be clear that they are not part of the call (eg public place), OR if you have invited them to join the discussion and you are happy to continue.

Recording appointments

We understand you may wish to record your call but we do not allow this. Please do not record anything in secret.

Please do not:

  • record the call
  • take photographs or screenshots
  • livestream the call
  • record any audio or video.

Thank you for co-operating.
