Children's services

We provide children and young people, across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire, with safe, high quality care that meets medical standards expected in the NHS.

Our specialist consultants, nurses and wider healthcare teams offer a wide range of diagnosis, treatment and support facilities for you and your child at both hospital and community settings. Your child’s treatment, safety and comfort are of great importance to us, and we will do everything we can to make their visit or stay as pleasant as possible.

If your child is seriously unwell or seriously injured please call 999

For illnesses that are not as serious, please use the NHS Wales - symptom checker (opens in new tab), make an appointment with your GP, or call NHS Direct Wales 111 if you are unsure about what to do. Children with minor injuries (such as sprains, cuts or minor burns) can be seen at minor injury units or in some community pharmacies.

You may be asked to take an unwell child to your nearest Emergency Department with co-located paediatric specialists on-site (currently Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen, and Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth, in the Hywel Dda area).

Feedback on children's services - gathering comments and thoughts is really important to help us to provide the best quality service to children and young people and their families.  Complete one of our surveys to feedback your experience (opens in new tab)
