Integrated family support services

Our service is a Welsh Government initiative to provide support for families whose lives are affected by parental drug and alcohol misuse delivered locally by multi disciplinary, multi agency teams who deliver evidence based time-limited interventions.

Each family support team brings together professionals, from social care and health care, who have specialist experience to work directly with the referred families. Some families often face multiple disadvantages that require highly specialist and intensive support. We may comprise social workers, mental health and substance misuse nurses, health visitors, and health intervention/social care specialists. This team of people will be managed by a team leader/consultant social worker.

Who do we work with?

We work with families whose lives are affected by parental substance misuse where there are concerns about the care and wellbeing of their children.

We also work with other family support services and agencies to support parents to continue to make positive changes that protect vulnerable children for the benefit of the family.
