Am I eligible for referral to the Integrated Autism Service?
We accept referrals for anyone in our catchment area who is over the age of 17 years and 9 months. You can contact us if you are seeking either a diagnosis of Autism or looking for a period of post diagnostic support.
How do I get referred?
Most people self-refer to us. We also accept referrals from professionals such as a GP, nurse or support worker.
You can contact us to request a copy of the referral form by:

What if I struggle with forms?
Sometimes you can’t face completing forms or don’t have anyone you can ask for help. If that’s you please get in touch if you’d like help you complete the referral form and we will find a way to help.
What if I’m under 18?
Are you or someone you are seeking a referral for under the age of 17 years and 9 months? If so, your GP will be able to refer to the under 18s service or direct you to the appropriate pathway. Some services require the referral to come from the school.
If you live out of our area then your GP should be able to advise you on referral to your local Integrated Autism service.

I have sent in a referral - what happens next?
Each referral received is screened by a Specialist Practitioner. This means that all referrals are carefully read and a decision made on whether to accept you onto our waiting list. If you are eligible for a diagnostic assessment, you will receive a letter confirming this.
How long will I have to wait for my assessment?
Unfortunately, it is difficult for us to give an exact time. We have a long waiting list and receive a large number of referrals every week. In order to support people while they wait, we have the Autism Advice Hubs.
If you are in need of advice and support, specific to Autism, you can contact us via phone or email to request a virtual appointment (known as a HUB).
