PrEP only protects you against HIV, it does not protect you against other STIs such as Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea or Syphilis.
You might have some side effects if you take PrEP, such as headaches or an upset stomach. These side effects should go away after a few days or weeks of starting PrEP.
PrEP can sometimes cause problems to your kidney function. We can spot the signs of this happening with regular kidney urine and blood tests.
