Director of Workforce and Organisational Development and Deputy Chief Executive

I have worked for Hywel Dda and its predecessor organisations since 1993 and have developed my career in workforce and organisational development. I was appointed as the Executive Director of Workforce and Organisational Development in 2015 and took on the additional responsibility of interim Deputy Chief Executive in February 2024. My previous role within the health board was assistant director of workforce and OD (workforce modernisation and planning). 

I am very proud of the achievements of our staff across the health board. In workforce and OD we are working to support our staff who ultimately support and care for our patients. Whilst the NHS is operating in difficult times, and with national shortages in the workforce, I am pleased that we can attract talented people to join our teams in mid and west Wales. Our innovative approach to recruitment and  staff development, together with our Health Care Apprenticeship Programme has demonstrated our commitment to our local communities.
