Executive Director of Nursing, Quality and Patient Experience

Hywel Dda is home to me. My family and I are part of the population, and I have worked within healthcare here since I finished my formal training.

My love of nursing has grown over the years. From training in adult nursing through to site management and lecturer, I also took on the role of head of infection prevention and control. I spent some time in clinical governance and general management, before becoming a directorate nurse when our legacy organisations became Hywel Dda UHB.

Since 2015, within the role as assistant director of nursing, I have worked with teams in the areas of infection prevention and control and professional standards. In May 2023, I was delighted to accept the role of deputy director of nursing. I was thrilled to be appointed to the role of Director of Nursing, Quality and Patient Care in April 2025.  A role I’d held on an interim basis since January 2024.
