I need my booster COVID-19 vaccine

If you are eligible for a booster and it has been three months since your second dose, please attend a drop-in clinic (opens in new tab) as soon as possible.

If you are unable to attend a drop-in clinic, please arrange an appointment by contacting the health board directly on 0300 303 8322 or to arrange an appointment.

Who is eligible for a COVID-19 booster vaccine?

  • Everyone aged 16 and over
  • people aged 12 years and over with a severely weakened immune system who have had a third primary dose (opens in new tab)
  • children and young people aged 12 to 15 years who are at increased risk from coronavirus due to underlying health conditions
  • children and young people aged 12 to 15 years who live with someone with a weakened immune system

Spring booster

Anyone who is eligible and has not yet come forward for their spring COVID-19 booster to take up their offer by the deadline of Thursday, 30 June 2022.

A deadline of 30 June has been introduced to ensure all those eligible for the spring booster will have a long-enough interval between this and the autumn 2022 booster, if they are also eligible.

  • People aged 75 years and over
  • Those who will celebrate their 75th birthday before or on 30 June
  • Older residents in care homes
  • Those aged 12 years and over with a weakened immune system

Please click here for mass vaccination centre drop-in times (for ages 12 and over) or call 0300 303 8322. To book and appointment please call 0300 303 8322 or email to book an appointment.

You can have the spring booster if it has been at least 3 months since your last dose. You do not need to have had a booster to be eligible for a spring booster. If you have not had your first booster before 12 March 2022 then only the spring booster will be needed before the autumn.

If you think you are immunocompromised and have not been sent an appointment for the spring booster please contact the health board on 0300 303 8322 or email

Our clinical queries group will review your case and let you know if you are eligible. The criteria for eligibility for the spring booster are different to those for last autumn’s booster, meaning that some people who were offered the autumn booster will not be eligible for the spring booster. There will also be some people who have developed a condition or been started on new treatment that now makes them eligible, so it is important that you check with the clinical queries team.
