Cancelled new patient appointments were reviewed and prioritised for action accordingly, cancelled follow up appointments were issued letters advising contact with the cardiology hot line to discuss concerns or request clinical advice. Our outpatient service has been maintained for urgent new referrals throughout the COVID period by providing telephone consultations, or where necessary a face to face appointment.
Heart failure clinics and cardiac rehabilitation follow-up has continued to take place as telephone consultations. We are currently providing limited face-to face clinics on all four acute hospital sites.

The reduction in our capacity and services is as a result of Government social distancing regulations and requirements to maintain safe practice.
We are currently working on plans to increase and restart more face to face sessions and the introducing virtual clinics. We are reviewing our plans to restart all other cardiology diagnostic tests on all four acute hospital sites.
