Current status as of 28 August 2020

We are currently running a limited gynaecology services across all four sites within the health board. This capacity is reduced due to the social distancing regulations to continue safe practice.

We are currently operating and holding outpatient clinics for urgent patients only, including urgent suspected cancer patients.

Pessary (for the management of a devise to support the uterus or bladder and rectum) clinics are up and running across the health board as well as colposcopy services which are running at a reduced capacity.

Public Health Wales have restarted cervical screening services.

As we are currently not undertaking any routine gynaecology, all routine gynaecology patients waiting on our waiting lists are being checked they are on the right pathway for their current needs.

Future plans

If capacity allows, recommencement of routine gynaecology patients deemed appropriate for procedure and outpatient appointment.

Increased capacity in outpatients when deemed appropriate.

Fertility and follow up clinics will be running virtually through a video consultation.

Validation and prioritisation of all routine and urgent patients on our waiting list.
