Going to Accident and Emergency - Glangwili Hospital

The hospitals are busy because of coronavirus, the hospital might look different to what it normally does.

You will not be able to go into some areas of the hospital, this is to make sure that the virus does not spread so easily.

If you need to come to Accident and Emergency because you are hurt or are unwell, park in the visitors car park and go towards the main Accident and Emergency reception. Go into main Accident and Emergency reception.

This is Accident and Emergency reception, you will be asked some questions – your name and address and why you have come to Accident and Emergency. You will be given a mask to wear – this is to stop coronavirus spreading.

You will be asked to take a seat in the waiting room. The chairs are spaced out like this, this is to keep everyone a safe distance apart.

You will then be called by a nurse and go into a room with a green door. The nurse will take your temperature and a nurse or doctor will ask you more questions and may examine you.

The nurse or doctor will ask you questions to find out if you have coronavirus: Have you had a cough? Have you been short of breath? Have you had a fever? Have you had a loss of taste or smell?

If you have some of these symptoms you might be asked to go to the COVID tent. Follow these signs.
