Concerns in pregnancy can be worrying, but there are services to help. If you are below 20 weeks of pregnancy, please phone your community midwife, or the early pregnancy unit. If you are above 20 weeks of pregnancy and have any concerns, please contact either your community midwife, or the maternity triage for your area.

If you experience any of the following:

  • spotting or bleeding;
  • constant vomiting;
  • leaking fluid;
  • painful urination;
  • persistent, severe headache;
  • swelling in face, hands, or legs;
  • contractions or cramps;
  • itching, especially on hands or feet;
  • sharp or continuing abdominal pain;
  • pelvic pain;
  • blurred vision, seeing spots;
  • baby’s movements slow down or the pattern changes;
  • high temperature;

or if you have any other concerns about you or your baby, please call your community midwife or triage number on the front of your notes. Triage is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
