Sore throat test and treat service

If you have a sore throat, or think you have tonsillitis, a trained pharmacist will assess your symptoms. They will complete a clinical assessment and where appropriate, swab your throat. It may be suitable to manage with painkillers and advice alone.

Depending on your symptoms you may be supplied with antibiotics or other appropriate treatments. The Pharmacist may refer you to your GP or other health care professional, if they think you may have a more serious condition.

Children under the age of 6 years old are unable to access this service.
