Top tips to help you choose well from the inpatient menu

Good nutrition is very important to your recovery and well-being. This guidance aims to help you to choose well from the hospital menus.

If you require a special diet this information is not suitable.  You may need a special diet if you have a food allergy or intolerance, coeliac disease or you need a textured modified diet. In this case will have specific menus provided, and the healthcare team can help you with more advice.

You will be screened for nutritional risk when you are admitted to hospital. We do this to help us to support you if you are at risk of malnutrition. This can harm your recovery and well-being.

If you have diabetes and need more support with choosing your diet while in hospital, please speak to a member of the nursing team.
