When you start, you will have an induction that is spread out over your first few weeks.
On your first day, you will complete any paperwork and make a start on e-learning modules. Don’t worry, the academy team will be on hand to guide you through this. There will also be a chance for you to take part in some team building activities to get to know the academy team and the other apprentices.
On the second day, you will take part in the college induction. This will include applying for your qualifications and meeting your teachers and assessors.
Health care apprentices will also take part in a clinical induction, where you will complete the ‘skills to care’ programme and learn how to move patients safely, as well as basic life support.
The non-clinical apprentices will receive an induction within their area, where you will be introduced to your tutors and your teams.
*If you are on a joint Health and social care apprenticeship you will complete the All-Wales Induction Framework (Community).
