We consulted with the public on the future of health services in Hywel Dda in 2018 – the consultation was named Our Big NHS Change.
Board members considered all they heard from patients, staff, the public and interested organisations, not just during the consultation, but also in the pre-consultation engagement and option development period. They also considered the clinical views, and other matters including safety standards the NHS must meet and the ability to provide services in the future.

This work led to our long-term health and care strategy, A Healthier Mid and West Wales: Our Future Generations Living Well, approved at a Board meeting on 29 November 2018. The Programme Business Case is the first, high-level document, to try to secure Welsh Government support to fund detailed work, and eventually, to fund the buildings and infrastructure we need to deliver our long-term strategy.
