Contraception services

Emergency contraception (morning after pill) is available free of charge for people aged 13 years and above. It must be provided by an accredited pharmacist. It will involve a confidential assessment to find out the most appropriate form of emergency contraception. It is recommended that you check with the pharmacy prior to attending that an accredited pharmacist is available.

Bridging contraception can also provide a 3-month supply of a contraception pill. This service can bridge the gap for the patient whilst they seek advice on their options and decide on a choice for a long-term method. The pharmacy service offers convenient access for patients and often no appointment is required.
