Stammering sometimes known as ‘stuttering’ or ‘dysfluency’ is a condition that can make it difficult for you to speak. You might get ‘stuck’ while talking, repeat sounds or words, or prolong parts of your speech.
Seeing a speech and language therapist can help you manage these symptoms, and change the way you feel about your stammer. You can refer yourself, or ask your GP to refer.
We will usually arrange an appointment to talk about your stammer and the impact it has on your day-to-day life. We can support you to find strategies that make talking easier, and help with any negative thoughts and emotions you associate with your stammer.
