A pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic will be held in the Students’ Union building at UWTSD’s Lampeter campus (College Street, SA48 7ED) on Wednesday 9 March between 10am and 5pm.

Students, campus staff and members of the public aged 16 and over are welcome to attend, no appointment needed, for their first, second or booster COVID-19 vaccination. The Pfizer vaccine will be available at the pop-up clinic.

Bethan Lewis, Interim Assistant Director of Public Health for Hywel Dda UHB, said: “Vaccines offer a good level of protection and it’s worth having if you’ve had COVID already. This is because the level of protection people get from having the virus may vary depending on how mild or severe their illness was, the time since their infection, and their age. But we know protection from vaccination is good, especially the booster.

“Unvaccinated people are more likely to need critical care in hospitals for COVID including the Omicron variant, and their outcomes are usually worse than those who are vaccinated.

“Our vaccination team can answer any questions you may have and support you to get vaccinated. By receiving your vaccine, you will continue to play your small but incredibly important part in protecting yourself, the most vulnerable and our local NHS.”
