Additional measures to protect patients at Glangwili General Hospital

Hywel Dda University Health Board can confirm that despite improvements in the rate of COVID-19 infections across our community in recent weeks, we continue to manage a significant number of patients at Glangwili General Hospital who have tested positive for COVID-19 and we are taking additional measures to protect patients and help prevent further spread of the virus.

New facilities for special care babies on the horizon

Work on new neonatal facilities at Glangwili Hospital, part of £25.2 million maternity improvements at the hospital, has continued throughout the pandemic with the new Special Care Baby Unit set to open later this year.

People who are shielding to receive vaccine at a mass vaccination centre

In response to confirmed COVID-19 vaccine supplies for the coming week, people who are shielding and have not already been offered an appointment by their GPs will now be invited to receive their vaccination at a mass vaccination centre, Hywel Dda University Health has confirmed.

People aged 75 to 79 years old invited to receive their COVID vaccination at a mass vaccination centre
