Drop-in service offers support and advice for adults with learning disabilities

06 August 2025

A weekly learning disability health drop-in service is available in Carmarthen, offering accessible, friendly support for adults with learning disabilities.

The drop-in sessions take place every Thursday from 12.30pm to 2.30pm at The Living Well Centre, Building 1, Parc Dewi Sant, Jobswell Road, Carmarthen, SA31 3HB.

The sessions are run by Hywel Dda University Health Board’s Health Facilitation Team, a group of nurses and support workers with experience communicating with and supporting adults with learning disabilities.

The service is open to any adult with a learning disability who would like help understanding their health, require support preparing for or arranging their Annual Health Check or would like to  know more about local adult learning disability services. No appointment is needed - just drop in.

We can also support family and carers of people with learning disabilities to understand some key  health needs of people with learning disabilities and signpost to relevant support and resources.

“We want people to feel confident and supported when it comes to their health,” said Tyler Payne (Health Facilitation Nurse).

“Our drop-in is a safe space to come for advice, information, or just a chat. We’re here to listen and help however we can.”
