Responding to the increased demands on the healthcare system in Hywel Dda, the Same Day Urgent Care (SDUC) service at Cardigan Integrated Care Centre (SA43 1JX) will temporarily extend its opening hours again over the next two weekends (Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 January and Saturday 31 January and Sunday 1 February) to help support local communities.
The service brings together urgent primary care, minor injuries and some same‑day urgent care in one place, led by experienced advanced urgent care practitioners. It is an alternative to attending an emergency department for urgent but non‑life‑threatening illnesses and injuries.
The service will be open 9.00am - 5.00pm on:
It is important that people phone 01239 807019 before attending wherever possible, to speak to a triage nurse who can provide advice and, if appropriate, arrange an appointment time.
Please note this is a short‑term, temporary arrangement only. Outside of these dates, the Cardigan Same Day Urgent Care service will continue to operate during its usual weekday hours of Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 6.00pm.
While X‑ray facilities will not be available during these weekend openings, patients are still encouraged to phone the triage service for advice and guidance before attending.
Andrew Carruthers, Chief Operating Officer at Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “We are temporarily extending the opening of the Cardigan Same Day Urgent Care service over the next two weekends to help manage current pressures across our health system.
“This is a temporary change in opening for the weekends of 24 and 25 January, and 31 January and 1 February.
“If you feel they you, or a loved one, needs to attend, please phone us on 01239 807019 before attending. This helps ensure people receive the right care, in the right place, and at the right time.”
