COVID-19 mobile testing units and mass vaccination centres closed due to Storm Eunice

17 February 2022

In response to a "stay indoors" warning issued by the Met Office ahead of Storm Eunice, Hywel Dda UHB has made the decision to close mass vaccination centres and mobile COVID-19 testing sites on Friday 18 February.

COVID-19 mobile testing units (booked via the UK Gov portal) currently sited in Canolfan Rheidol (Aberystwyth), Penmorfa (Aberaeron), Withybush Showground (Haverfordwest), Dafen Yard (Llanelli) and Kilgetty are open today, Thursday 17 February, closed on Friday 18 February, and will re-open on Saturday 19 February.

COVID-19 community testing units (booked via the health board directly) will remain open for urgent cases and symptomatic testing for health and social care staff.

Mass vaccination centres are open today, Thursday 17 February, for scheduled appointments and vaccination drop-ins, closed on Friday 18 February, and will reopen for appointments and drop-ins on Saturday 19 February.

People with appointments for vaccination or non-urgent hospital pre-admission or pre-treatment testing on Friday 18 February will be contacted directly by the health board today to rearrange their appointment. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Medical appointments in hospital and community locations will continue as planned. Please allow plenty of time to travel and check the latest weather and local updates before leaving.

If it is unsafe for you to travel to your appointment, please do not put yourself at risk and contact us using the phone number on your appointment letter to let us know you are unable to attend.
