GP practices and community pharmacies are working hard to ensure that essential services continue to run for the communities they serve.
A number of community pharmacies will be open for a few hours on Friday May 8 to provide services such as the dispensing prescriptions, treatment for common ailments, emergency supply of medication and emergency contraception. Some GP practices, listed in the table below, will be open for a limited time on the forthcoming bank holiday Friday. They will be offering essential services to patients who require an urgent consultation.
Patients will be assessed over the telephone by a GP or nurse and will be offered face-to-face consultations if clinically appropriate. Patients are asked to contact their surgery as normal if it is necessary.
