Hywel Dda University Health Board has lifted most of the visiting restrictions introduced at Prince Philip Hospital last week in response to incidences of norovirus.
However, Ward 9 remains closed with visiting restrictions still in place. Visitors are being asked to contact the ward manager or hospital switchboard for further guidance.
All visitors to Hywel Dda sites are being asked not to visit loved ones if they have symptoms of flu, sickness or diarrhoea and to wear masks when attending all clinical sites.
Sharon Daniel, Director of Nursing, Quality, and Patient Experience at Hywel Dda University Health Board said:
“We took the decision to restrict all but essential visiting to Prince Philip hospital last week in order to keep patients and staff safe and to halt the spread of norovirus.
“We have been monitoring the situation carefully daily and have decided that it is safe to re-open the hospital to visitors. I would like to thank people for not visiting their loved ones during the ward closures and for bearing with us while we worked to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.
"Thank you also to everyone for only visiting loved ones in hospital if you are free from symptoms of sickness, and for supporting us all by wearing a mask while on our site.”
