Phlebotomy services in Llanelli

Hywel Dda University Health Board is looking at ways of improving the way it provides phlebotomy services in Llanelli.

The service is currently being offered at the Antioch Centre in the town.

Sarah Perry, Interim County Director Carmarthenshire and General Manager Pathology and Radiology at Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “In response to feedback from our patients, the Health Board is seeking to improve our phlebotomy services for the community of Llanelli.

“We are aware that our population currently need to wait longer than we would like for their blood tests, and we are hoping to find an accessible location in Llanelli that will enable us to increase our capacity.

“We are aware that we need to engage with our communities on any change and will look to do so as soon as possible. In the meantime, our phlebotomy services will continue to be available at the Antioch Centre.”

We hope to share further news on the provision of phlebotomy services in Llanelli in the near future and ask that patients who have appointments for blood tests continue to attend their appointments at the Antioch Centre.
